A friend of Anais introduced her to Yara Akkari by email a few years ago. She thought they would get along and make some great things together for Open Spaces Magazine. Every time Yara was in LA, Anais was not or on set, so they kept postponing their first coffee together. But Yara kept checking in and then at the end of 2022, she floated the idea of doing a piece about Sea Ranch and having Anais photograph it. In February of 2023, they met at the San Francisco Airport and instantly talked like they had known each other for years. Elizabeth Snowden who was writing the piece picked them up in her car, her beautiful messy and curly hair tied up loosely and framing her face, an old bouquet of flowers in her trunk. Anais knew she just had made two very good friends. They hit the road and landed in this place of magic in Northern California. They walked along the coast, made dinner together as they felt alone in this world and yet surrounded by other homes (the magic of the architectural planning of this place), looked through windows that felt like frames for the art of nature in all its glory, made a fire and talked about life.
